About
We make kit for
the hard part
Salt Rebel is a youth sailing brand built around one idea: the surge of energy that shows up in every sailor exactly when things stop being fun.
It’s not just the wind. It’s what it does to you.

The surge
You have more in you.
The surge
The gear you didn’t know you had
Ask any sailor about their best race and they will not describe the one where the breeze was perfect.
They will describe the one where it was blowing eighteen, they had already capsized once, their hands had gone, and somewhere on the second beat something kicked in. They hiked harder than they had all day. They passed three boats. They still talk about it.
That jolt is the whole brand. It is not talent and it is not fitness — it is the thing underneath both, and it turns up when you need it most.
The crew
Nobody finds that gear alone. They find it because somebody on the dock refused to pack up before they did.
The other half of the surge is the crew: the sailors bailing your boat while you get your breath back, the ones who show up at seven in the morning in the rain, the parents running the rib, the coach who stayed out an extra hour. A fleet is a group of people who agreed to do something hard together.
Colour
Breaking the nautical mould
Red, white and blue has had a hundred-year run. We think it is done.
Salt Rebel is built on deep jewel tones — burgundy, pine, plum, and one navy we allowed on the condition it earned its keep. Then we hung a bolt of neon off a sleeve.
That neon is not a styling choice. It is the single fastest thing for a coach to find in a fleet of forty boats in a grey chop, and it is what makes a squad legible from the shore. Loud on purpose.
What we make
Built around a hiking bench
Compression, not costume
Second-skin through the torso with four-way stretch across the shoulders, so a roll-tack does not turn into a wrestling match. Long enough in the body to stay down when you are out over the side.
Flat where it matters
Bonded flatlock seams down the ribs and under the arms. Nothing that will chafe under a harness, a buoyancy aid or six hours of trapezing.
Salt, sun and the third day
UPF 50+ knit that holds its colour through a season of salt water and pool training, finished with a silver-based antimicrobial treatment so the kit is still wearable on the third morning of a regatta — because a kit bag is where it will live.
Youth 8 to adult XL
Because a squad is rarely all one size, and because coaches want the kit too. One range, eight sizes, same colourways throughout.
Honest bit
Where we are
right now
Salt Rebel is new. Spring 2026 is the first drop: four compression tops and one shell.
We would rather make five things properly than thirty things adequately. What comes next — spray tops, a lighter summer weight, a proper kit bag — will be decided largely by what sailors tell us they are missing. If that is you, the contact page goes straight to a person.
